BGR Piper Race Cars Welcomes Jonathan Woolridge As Second Driver for 2019 Toyo Tires F1600 Championship Campaign.

While the snow still covers the ground Brian Graham Racing has been busy preparing for the upcoming season with the addition of Jonathan Woolridge who has joined their winning team.

Having tested with the team last fall, Jonathan was immediately comfortable in the Piper DL7. Joining previously announced Matthew Barry, Jonathan will also have an eye on Rookie of the Year honours. Several seasons of karting and then a switch to Time Attack has exposed Jonathan to a variety of different competitions, but he has always had his eye on the ultra competitive F1600 Championship.

“I am very pleased and excited to be working with Brian Graham Racing this season. A racing career has always been a long, passionate goal of mine. Over the course of working and testing with Brian Graham Racing in 2018, he and the team have shown me their commitment to the series and pushing new drivers up through the ladder of motorsports.”
comments Woolridge. “We are delighted to have Jonathan come on board with our team, he fit in right away and was quite impressive during our two day test last fall. There is still plenty to learn and a lot of hard work in store but I am confident that we will get there.” states team principal Brian Graham.

The 20 year old will join Matthew Barry as well as the team’s 3rd driver (upcoming announcement) for a very busy test program prior to the opening round of the 2019 season.

The BGR shop is currently busy preparing the cars for the 2019 season with several upgrades in the works. BGR is the Canadian distributor for Piper Racecars and is a factory supported team of the popular chassis which is built in California, USA. The all new Piper DL7 debuted in 2014 and grabbed it’s first win at CTMP during the Al Craighead Can Am Cup.

BGR has put more drivers in the winner’s circle than any other team in Ontario F1600 (OFFC) history and has an incredible run winning the Rookie of the Year for 10 of the last 13 years. With an alumni list that boasts drivers who have gone on to win championships all over North America, to several starters in the Indy 500, BGR is well known as the place to begin a career in open wheel racing.
