Fabio Urbano to Contest the 2009 F1600 series with BGR/TLM

Brian Graham Racing/TLM Racing with Grote has announced the addition of Fabio Urbano to its Ontario Formula Ford Challenge driver line-up for 2009.

Seeking to regain the Ontario Formula Ford Challenge title and win the Rookie of the Year award for a third consecutive season, Brian Graham Racing/TLM Racing has signed Urbano for the upcoming 2009 season. Piloting a Urbano Electric, Altwood, and Metropolitan Doors backed Van Diemen chassis, the 20 year-old will contest the entire 12-race championship. Urbano, as part of a multi-car effort by Brian Graham Racing/TLM Racing, will partner fellow rookie Stefan Rzadzinski and a yet to be named driver.

A native of Schenectady, N.Y., Urbano joins the competitive Ontario Formula Ford Championship having shown good speed behind the wheel in the past year. Urbano, having attended both the Bridgestone Racing School and the Skip Barber Racing School, made his car racing debut in 2008, competing in the Bertil Roos FF2000 series. In addition to his on-track experience, Urbano has been a regular at he track, following the exploits of his uncle Mario Urbano. The elder Urbano is the reigning two-time Ontario CASC Formula Libre Champion and a former BGR driver.

"We are looking forward to having Fabio come aboard," stated Team Owner Brian Graham. "Mario is always fun to be around, and Fabio is very keen and looking forward to the season opener."

In effort to create Canada's premier formula car development team, Brian Graham Racing/TLM Racing with Grote was recently formed via partnership of two of the nations leading junior race car teams. The new partnership features a three-tier program for its drivers via the Ontario F1200 Championship, Ontario Formula Ford Challenge and the F2000 Championship Series.

In operation since 1998, Brian Graham Racing has competed in various championships over the years, including the F2000 Championship Series, Formula Ford 2000 Zetec Championship, Canadian Formula Ford Championship and Ontario Formula Ford Challenge. A proven winner, the team has captured several CASC Championship titles and finished on the podium at the prestigious SCCA National Championship Runoffs. Over the past two years, the team has won 10 races in the Ontario Formula Ford Challenge, capturing the 2007 series title and back-to-back Rookie of the Year awards, as well as winning once in the F2000 Championship Series.

Formed in 2005, TLM Racing has quickly developed into a leading force in the Canadian Formula 1200 race community. After capturing the inaugural Vallis Cup and three Ontario F1200 Championship wins in 2007, the team finished second in the title fight, winning five races, including a second consecutive Vallis Cup victory last season.

Brian Graham Racing/TLM Racing with Grote is currently continuing preparations for the 2009 Ontario Formula Ford Challenge season-opener on May 9-10, at Mosport International Raceway.
