Russian Driver Mikhail Goikhberg Racing for BGR/TLM


Brian Graham Racing/TLM Racing with Grote are pleased to announce another driver signing for the upcoming Ontario Formula Ford Challenge season, with the addition of Russian Mikhail Goikhberg.

Goikhberg, who originally hails from St. Petersburg, Russia, has joined three-time OFFC Rookie of the Year winners Brian Graham Racing/TLM Racing full-time, and will make his Formula Ford debut this weekend at Shannonville Motorsports Park, as part of the traditional CASC-Ontario Region Spring Fling test days. Scheduled to contest the entire 12-race Ontario Formula Ford Challenge campaign, with gets underway in early May at Mosport International, the talented Russian will will partner fellow series rookies Stefan Rzadzinski and Fabio Urbano at Brian Graham Racing/TLM Racing throughout the season, and be joined by Keiran Murphy and Allan Craighead at selected events.

"We are excited to have Mikhail joining our team," stated Team Owner Brian Graham. "It really is becoming an international group of drivers, with Fabio carrying the Italian flag, Keiran the Irish flag, and Stefan sporting the Canadian flag. We have a big season coming up with all new faces to the OFFC, and the team is eager to get back to the track after a long winter."

The 22 year-old Goikhberg enters the competitive Ontario Formula Ford Challenge having raced selected junior formula car races over the past year. Highlights include victories in Skip Barber Regional competition at Homestead-Miami Speedway and Sebring International Raceway in Florida. Goikhberg is currently living in Waterloo, Ont., where he is a student at the University of Waterloo, majoring in Mathematics.

In operation since 1998, Brian Graham Racing has competed in various championships over the years, including the F2000 Championship Series, Formula Ford 2000 Zetec Championship, Canadian Formula Ford Championship and Ontario Formula Ford Challenge. A proven winner, the team has captured several CASC Championship titles and finished on the podium at the prestigious SCCA National Championship Runoffs. Over the past two years, the team has won 10 races in the Ontario Formula Ford Challenge, capturing the 2007 series title and back-to-back Rookie of the Year awards, as well as winning once in the F2000 Championship Series.

Formed in 2005, TLM Racing has quickly developed into a leading force in the Canadian Formula 1200 race community. After capturing the inaugural Vallis Cup and three Ontario F1200 Championship wins in 2007, the team finished second in the title fight, winning five races, including a second consecutive Vallis Cup victory last season.

The 2009 season gets underway for Brian Graham Racing/TLM Racing with Grote with Rounds One and Two of the Ontario Formula Ford Challenge season-opener on May 9-10, at Mosport International Raceway.
