Fabio Urbano
Fabio Urbano, 21, is a second generation racing driver from Schenectady, NY, USA. His uncle, Mario Urbano is a Formula Libre racing driver and the 2007 & 2008 CASC Formula Libre Champion. Fabio graduated from the Schalmont High School, leading the soccer team to a Regional Championship and State Semifinal in the senior season. He went on to graduate from Hudson Valley Community College with an Associate of Science degree in Electrical Construction and Maintenance.
In 2007 Fabio Decided to follow in his uncle's footsteps and begin his motor racing career by attending two racing schools. He began with the Skip Barber Introduction To Racing School in Lime Rock, Connecticut and followed up that training with a 3-day course at the Bridgestone Racing Academy in Ontario, where he obtained the SCCA racing license.
The following year, Fabio entered the 2008 Bertil Roos Racing Series in the sixth event. Fabio took home 9th place in his debut and returned to Pocono, Pennsylvania a few months later for the Bertil Roos Rookie Run Off. This time, Fabio achieved a podium finish in 3rd place in only the second race weekend of his career.
In April 2009 Fabio signed with Brian Graham Racing/TLM Racing with grotto to compete in the 2009 Ontario Formula Ford Challenge, rated the second most competitive Formula Ford Series in the world by eFormulaCarNews.
In his first full season of competitive racing, Fabio finished 7th in points after 7 top ten finishes and 2 to 5 finishes, including a third place podium spot and Shannonville Motorsport Park.
In 2010, Fabio hopes to gain sponsorship to help take the next step to the Formula 2000 Series, where the cars are faster, the competition is fiercer and the crowds are larger.
